I'm Anna, 20-something young professional living in the big city but enjoy hobbies and new experiences on my off time. I re-started this blog after a much long-winded hiatus, and am excited to be creating content and blogging again!

QUESTIONS ABOUT ME

Q. What's your sign?
A. I'm a Capricorn

Q. What's your nationality?
A. I'm 75% Vietnamese and 25% Chinese, but I identify more with being Canadian.

Q. Your ideal outing?
A. Brunch or meeting up over hot drinks (tea, coffee.. bubble tea!).

Q. What are your hobbies?
A. This falls under a couple of categories:
  • Dance: I enjoy latin dance (salsa and bachata) and is probably the one I would love to continue to improve on. I've tried beginner breakdancing classes, and also was part of a korean pop dance cover group. It surprises me how much dance has become part of my life - both learning to move my body kinesthetically and also the community I've been introduced to!
  • Personal Fitness: I've completed Shaun T's T25, Insanity, Insanity Asylum Part 1 and am currently on BBG. I'm not a huge fan of going to the gym and running on a treadmill for an hour. I wake up at 5 am each morning to exercise.
  • Cooking & Baking: I think every person is a foodie deep down. I really enjoy the process (and sometimes science, especially with baking) involved with food preparation, plus you get to eat it at the end!
  • Photography: I'm still very much a beginner, but like being on both sides of the camera. I occasionally like to read up on different photography composition & post-processing techniques. It's given me a better appreciation for the beauty around me; I certainly see the world differently since I started picking this up!

Q. What do you like about living in the city?
A. I love the diversity, how there's so much to do and see. I love that within the city there are pockets of communities and historical districts that have their own distinct culture and people.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DESIGN

Q. What camera do you use?
A. Canon EOS SL1, with kit lens 18-55mm. I opted for on the smallest camera bodies that would make it easier to carry around.

Q. Where did you learn to design/code?
A. I was self taught at the age of 12. It began with creating a Sailor Moon fanpage on Geocities, I eventually migrated to Angelfire and just kept creating web content which slowly involved into a web and graphic design blog. I loved the problem solving involved with designing a page and putting together aesthetically pleasing projects together.

Q. What programs do you use for your graphics?
A. I currently use primarily Photoshop and Lightroom.

Q. What blogging platform do you use?
A. I currently use Blogger, but have hosted with Livejournal, Xanga, Weebly, and Wordpress in the past.

Q. Do you freelance?
A. I have done some pro-bono web/graphic design for non-profit organizations, and have been approached by some colleagues within my network to help them build websites for their businesses, from which I have created fully-customized Wordpress designs.
