Our Christmas Tree

This is our first Christmas together.

I always grew up with the same Christmas Tree since childhood. We stored it in a cupboard under the stairs and each December we'd take it apart, assemble it and decorate. When I moved out following University, I haven't quite been able to re-create that experience without going home to my parents.

Taking advantage of the sales for Black Friday, we purchased a tree, ornaments and a star. I initially was going to purchase a $75.99 Black Friday sale tree, however when I went to Canadian Tire, I was disappointed at the size.

Seeing a tree in a flyer is very different from seeing it in person. These were the different trees available for sale. We opted with a pre-lit tree.

The wide selecition of Christmas Trees we could pick from:

We ended up selecting the "NOMA Colorado Colour-Changing Tree". Carlos's ceilings are 8 feet tall, so we needed something under. This was 7.5 feet, prelit LED lights that's remote controlled.

The tree was assembled in three sections - "A", "B" and "C", with the circuit for the lights running through the centre of the tree.

After adding each section we "fluffed" the branches to make it look fuller and more fluffy.

These are BRILLIANT plastic ornaments that are "shatterproof" but look beautiful with the tree. Carlos and I were adding sewing thread through each of these to add to the tree.

This is the star we added to the top! It lights up but unfortunately the cord was white so we purchased a green cord to thread up the tree to the top!

These little snowmen were 3 for $1.25 at Dollarama.
